Titre : Do it herself- Women and technical innovation Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Helen Appleton, Auteur Editeur : Intermediate Technology Publications Année de publication : 1995 Importance : 310p. Présentation : ill., map ISBN/ISSN/EAN : 978-1-85339-287-0 Langues : Anglais (eng) Langues originales : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Travail Mots-clés : gender differences, production technology Index. décimale : C-1.2 Femmes et emploi Résumé : Although women are the majority of small-scale technology users, their technical knowledge and understanding has largely been overlooked. This book investigates the contributions of women to technical innovation at a grassroots level, using twenty two case studies of technical innovation by women in sixteen countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
There has, until now, been limited research on technology development and the impact of technological change at a local level, and the information that was available rarely addressed gender differences.
The countries and regions described have very different histories, cultures, geography, and economic, social and political environments, but certain themes emerge as central to women's use, production and adaptation of technology. Women are not generally high-profile users of technical hardware, but have important technical skills and knowledge and are engaged in complex production processes.En ligne : data:image/jpeg;base64,/9j/4AAQSkZJRgABAQAAAQABAAD/2wCEAAkGBxQSEhUUExQVFhUWGSAaF [...] Do it herself- Women and technical innovation [texte imprimé] / Helen Appleton, Auteur . - [S.l.] : Intermediate Technology Publications, 1995 . - 310p. : ill., map.
